Cabarete is located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic and is quickly gaining reputation as the Adventure Sports Capital of the Caribbean, as well as one of most incredible vacation destinations in the Caribbean, if not the world.

Located just 20 minutes from Puerto Plata International Airport (POP), the town of Cabarete sits along a beautiful beach overlooking the aquamarine waters of Cabarete Bay. For water sport enthusiasts, it offers kiteboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paddle-boarding and sailing. Land lovers can enjoy hiking, caving, horseback riding, tennis or cycling.

Once a quiet fishing community, this hip little beach town has transformed into one of the most popular and modern tourists hotspots in the Caribbean. If watersports are not for you, then rent a beach chair for the day and bake in the warm Caribbean sun before dipping into the beautiful turquoise waters of the bay. Eat dinner beachside in one of the many restaurants that tempt visitors with mouth-watering menus and refreshing cocktails under star-lit skies, then join the night owls in one of the local bars or dance clubs where you’re bound to be entertained by spirited conversation, lively music and dancing.

With a population of around 10,000 people, there is a significant community of around 2,000 expats representing over 20 different nationalities. It is not unusual for expat children to speak three to four different languages and by growing up in this community, they are the best example of what international living without prejudice and borders can be like. Cabarete is one of the few places in the world, where the expat community is integrated right into the local community, making it a fantastic place to enjoy international cuisine and customs, while taking in all the flavors and colors that this tropical paradise has to offer.
